A letter about why L.A.B. Golf changed everything for us
There are products you sell. And then there are products that
prove everything you knew was wrong
.
L.A.B. Golf is the latter. Not because they have the prettiest design. Not because they have the biggest marketing budget. But because they asked a question no one else dared:
why do we accept that our putter fights against us?
It sounds provocative. But
the truth should be provocative when the lie has been normalized for a hundred years.
Bill Presse IV, the founder, realized that every putter on the market — regardless of price, regardless of material — had a built-in problem:
torque
. The center of gravity was misaligned relative to the shaft's axis. The hands were forced to compensate. Every time. Every putt.
Sam Hahn, the CEO, was the scratch golfer who was tired of hating his greens. When he picked up his first L.A.B. prototype, he understood immediately:
this isn't a new putter — it's new physics.
We feel at home with L.A.B. because we share the same uncompromising approach. We measure what others can only feel. We question what others accept. And we know something most people miss:
zero torque is only half the equation. If the putter's shape and aim aids don't fit your eyes — if you're aiming wrong — zero torque doesn't matter.
That's why we always test aim. Always.
They hand-build their putters in Oregon. We fit them with data in Sundbyberg — and we do the one thing that makes all the difference:
we ensure you aim where you think you're aiming
. That's The Zero Torque Protocol.
